We Always See It Too Late
Hey, had some spare time recently and was thinking about zoetropes so I made some in After Effects. Check it out!
The title is a bit of a quote from All Quiet On The Western Front. You read that in high school, right? Right. The structure of the zoetrope is interesting because unlike other ways of producing animation, a zoetrope can slow down and stop, giving you a way of seeing the big whirling structure that creates the illusion. I was thinking about the way we talk about war and soldiers and this just kind of came out of that.
Here’s a view of it from another angle so you can see how it was structured.
Anyway, just a quick experiment. More substantive stuff to come after Brandon Generator ends in July… but maybe sooner.
